Reiki

The word Reiki means “universal life energy”. It is an ancient Japanese form of healing dating back thousands of years. Reiki is a natural and simple method of hands-on healing which transfers energy from the giver to the receiver. Reiki energy is a powerful and concentrated form of energy that flows through the hands of a Reiki practitioner. Reiki is a holistic therapy in that it works on the mind, body and spirit by stimulating the body’s own natural healing capacity. It is a way of channelling energy positively in order to promote health and to restore a sense of physical and emotional balance.

Reiki is unique in that the energy is drawn through the Reiki practitioner by the client, as opposed to being directed by the healer. The treatment is performed with the client fully clothed and can be done virtually anywhere. Reiki affects each client differently so each person’s experience is unique. Although the effects may seem outwardly subtle, profound changes may occur inwardly as the body is encouraged to heal itself.

We also have Reiki masters who present regular courses on Reiki to enable you to become a Reiki practitioner.  To find out more about when these courses run, click here to be taken to our Soothing Touch Academy website.

Reflexology

Reflexology uses pressure on the feet to promote good health. There are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all parts of the body. By using a unique technique of applying pressure to the reflex areas with the thumbs and fingers, Reflexology can treat the whole body and restore balance by increasing circulation to the internal organs, glands and other parts of the body through the feet. During a Reflexology treatment, the client remains fully clothed except for the removal of shoes and socks. It is an extremely relaxing form of massage and by helping to harmonise the body’s functions, the treatment allows the body to heal itself by breaking down tension, relieving stress and improving the nerve and blood supply. Reflexology is an ideal treatment to use with cancer patients. In order to maintain balance in the body, reflexology treatments should be taken as part of a course. Reflexology can be performed at your office or workplace, team events, roadshows and can be adapted to the client’s needs.

Indian Head Massage

This is an extremely effective treatment that has evolved from traditional techniques practiced in India for over a thousand years. The techniques used in Indian Head Massage are simple and effective and the treatment can be performed in an ordinary chair with a low back. Indian Head Massage is applied to the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, face and scalp. It is performed through clothes and therefore can be performed anywhere. It works on both a physical and psychological level. It represents a de-stressing treatment for the whole body and can be performed at the workplace as part of a Stress Management programme.

Seated Acupressure Massage

Stress related illness currently accounts for over 60% of absences from work. Recent legislation now obligates employers to identify risks to health and to safeguard staff. Research shows that stress management concentrating solely on the individual is ineffective. Safeguards and controls at the organisational level must be implemented.

On Site Massage can also be done at team events, exhibitions, roadshows – why not treat your employees (or your clients) and see the benefits that it could bring to your company.

Hopi Ear Candles

This is an ancient and natural therapy that can be done as a treatment on anyone from babies and children to the elderly. This treatment is an alternative to ear syringing and can help with a host of complaints including rhinitus, sinusitis, tinutus, vertigo, colds, glue ear, hayfever, nasal allergies, stress, earache, nervousness, headaches and migraines. It can help treat people whose ears pop when they go diving, take a flight or travel by underground tube. It is a very relaxing therapy which helps to soothe the head and ears, relieves pain and calms the mind.

The Hopi Ear Candles are made of organically grown flax and pure beeswax with minute drops of essential oils. When the candles are placed in your ears, they do not hurt or cause any discomfort. As the candles burn and the vapours are released, they help to unblock the ears and draw out any wax. Even people who are partially deaf and wear a hearing aid can benefit from this treatment. Treatment may also spontaneously cause freer nasal breathing and an improved sense of smell, even when the nose was blocked before treatment. One treatment is not always sufficient to unblock the ears completely depending on how deeply blocked they are. It is therefore recommended to have a course of treatments within a short period.
